What We Believe
God
We believe in one eternally living God who exists in three “persons” — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This is described as the “Trinity.” God is the creator and preserver of all things and He will ultimately fulfill His perfect plan for the world.
God the Father
We believe that God the Father is the first person of the Trinity.
Jesus Christ
We believe that the Son, Jesus Christ, the second person of the Trinity, is both completely God and man. In response to our rebellion against God, the Son voluntarily accepted our punishment by dying on the cross as our substitute. After three days, He rose from the dead.
Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. He convinces us that we need to have a restored relationship with God. When a person responds, deciding to trust Jesus as their Savior, it is the Holy Spirit who makes that person spiritually alive.
The Bible
We believe that the Bible is the only unique book of its kind and, when correctly interpreted, it is completely trustworthy.
People
We believe that everyone was created to enjoy a loving relationship with God. Through our selfish choices we destroyed our ability to participate in this, although we still feel the need for it.
Salvation
We believe that human effort is incapable of restoring our relationship with God. God offers to do this for us, called salvation, on the basis of Jesus’ death on the cross. We believe that to obtain salvation a person must trust in Jesus as Savior. When this happens, the Holy Spirit begins to live within them and they experience a new kind of life.
Faith and Practice
Each member of our church is expected to live according to the guiding principles of the Bible, submitting their wills to Jesus Christ as the one in control of their lives.
Church
We believe the Church is a spiritual association with Jesus as its active director. There is one Universal Christian Church on earth, comprised of all who trust Jesus Christ as Savior.
Human Destiny
We believe that those who have not chosen to trust in Jesus Christ will be eternally separated from God. However, those who trust in Him have been forgiven and will be with God in heaven. This will be so wonderful that we are unable to comprehend it now.
The Second Coming of Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus will return to the earth as its ruler, and this could happen at any time.
Doctrine on Which We Agree to Disagree
For beliefs not listed above, we allow freedom to agree or disagree. However, unity within our church is treasured. We insist that no belief be promoted to the point of causing divisions.
