Firewood Ministry

The Conifer Community Church (CCC) Firewood Ministry, along side members of our community, spread Christ’s love to others in a practical way, providing free firewood to those in need during the heating season.

Doing God’s Work by fetching, blocking, splitting, stacking, and distributing wood to our neighbors and yours.

This is a 100%-volunteer operation, from all walks of life in the Conifer Colorado area: Church members, Troop 400 Boy Scouts, Conifer residents, and area businesses.
We serve families in the 285 Corridor (Conifer, Morrison, Pine Jct, Bailey, S Evergreen, etc), as resources allow.

The Firewood Ministry is comprised of three distinct teams:

Incoming Wood Team

Responsible for receiving wood from donors. Communicating with donors, assessing donation and workload, scheduling the receipt of the donation, and marking the wood as green or dry.

Processing Team

Responsible for preparing the wood for recipients. Trimming, blocking, splitting, and stacking. Also responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and stocked Wood Corral. Equipment (splitters, brooms, gloves, etc), fuel (gas, oil, etc), and clearly marked wood piles (logs, blocks, split, green, dry, etc).

Outgoing Wood Team

Responsible for getting the wood to recipients. Communicating with recipients, assessing amount and workload, and scheduling the receipt (delivery or self-serve).

Our firewood team is happy to serve those in our community who are having troubles in heating their homes during the heating season. Free firewood is available for those who qualify.

Thank you for making a positive impact to your community and neighbors by donating wood to “the cause”. We can’t do what we do without people like yourself doing what you do.

It is encouraged that donated wood be dropped off at the Wood Corral. Arrangements can be made for a pick up by contacting the Incoming Wood Team.
